Benefits of Xylitol
What makes XyliMelts so effective against dry mouth (also called xerostomia)? The key ingredient is xylitol, a naturally sweet carbohydrate found in raspberries, corn, oats, and other plants. Xylitol cannot be digested by the harmful mouth bacteria that cause tooth decay, gum disease, and infections. Plus, when xylitol lingers in the mouth, it stimulates saliva and may reduce the risk of tooth decay.
Clinical studies suggest that you can maximize the benefits of xylitol by slowly releasing a continuous concentration of xylitol in your mouth. To achieve this with xylitol gum, you’d need to work through 6-9 pieces of gum per day and you would still miss the sleeping hours. XyliMelts help solve this problem by utilizing adhering disc technology that releases just the right concentration of xylitol over time—meaning hours of dry mouth relief for you as the disc coats, moisturizes, and increases saliva flow, especially while sleeping when dry mouth is worst.

80 long-lasting oral adhering discs of XyliMelts for slow-release of xylitol (500mg) to temporarily relieve dry mouth day and night. XyliMelts discs coat, moisturize and lubricate while
increasing saliva. Xylitol may reduce the risk of tooth decay and freshen breath. Use XyliMelts daily as needed as part of your oral care routine!
How to use
Place the tan adhesive side of the disc on the outside of a molar and/or adjoining gums, upper or lower, white side touching cheek. Use your tongue to push the disc to a comfortable spot. Once there, do not touch it with your tongue for 10 seconds, as this movement will disrupt the adhesion.
Before bedtime: Use two (2) discs, placing one on each side of the mouth.
Everyday use: For dry mouth, use more as needed throughout the day.
Use two domes before bed, one on each side of the mouth, in either the lower or upper part of each cheek. Optionally, use more at other times. You may remove it for eating and replace it after eating. Do not chew. Do not consume fructose (in fruit and added to many sweet drinks and foods) until one hour later. You may adhere the flat, dark side to teeth or gums to minimize movement. Use 4-8 domes daily for 1-20 days before each dental procedure if you have a family history of or active cardiac disease and your dentist did not prescribe antibiotics. Some bacteria to be suppressed may evolve a resistance to xylitol. It may be best to suspend use of xylitol for about 2 weeks every two months to minimize such evolution.

What are XyliMelts?
XyliMelts are oral-adhering discs that stick to your teeth or gums to relieve persistent dry mouth. Use XyliMelts during the day or while sleeping and find temporary relief from frequent thirst, sticky dryness in the mouth and throat, and other unpleasant dry mouth symptoms. Made with xylitol, a natural sweetener that helps stimulate saliva flow, XyliMelts utilize adhering disc technology to slowly release 550 mg of xylitol, which is most effective when continuously released and lingers in the mouth, especially when used while sleeping when saliva flow is lowest. XyliMelts last for hours, moisturizing and coating the mouth for optimal comfort. The mild mint flavor freshens your breath and the xylitol may reduce the risk of tooth decay.
Why Oral Adhering Discs?
• Slow release means longer lasting relief
• Can be comfortably used at night while sleeping
• Stays put in your mouth
• Neutralizes Acids and Gluten Free

Xylitol and tips for controlling dry mouth
• Chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva. For some people, xylitol, which is often found in sugar-free gum or sugar-free candies, may cause diarrhea or cramps if consumed in large amounts.
• Try over-the-counter saliva substitutes — look for products containing xylitol, such as Mouth Kote or Oasis Moisturizing Mouth Spray, or ones containing carboxymethylcellulose (kahr-bok-see-meth-ul-SEL-u-lohs) or hydroxyethyl cellulose (hi-drok-see-ETH-ul SEL-u-lohs), such as Biotene Oral Balance.
• Try a mouthwash designed for dry mouth — especially one that contains xylitol, such as Biotene Dry Mouth Oral Rinse or ACT Total Care Dry Mouth Mouthwash, which also offer protection against tooth decay.
